Pricing and availability are subject to change. I can admit that I probably travel with too many hair products. But when you have curly hair, it's necessary. I never know what my curls will look like when I wake up, so I need to be ready with an arsenal of products no matter where I am. Given that I'm usually traveling with shampoo, conditioner, leave-in conditioner, style cream, hair mist and more, I've become a bit of a pro at getting through security without needing additional screening because of my hair products. The trick? These clear toiletry bags that I bought on Amazon. Amazon First, I never send my toiletry bags through the scanner inside my carry-on or another bag. I always send them through on their own, so it's super easy for the person reviewing the scan to see exactly

International visitors flocking back to B.C. - North Shore News

Image
Data supports anecdotal reports that B.C.'s tourism sector is strongly on the rebound from dire times during the COVID-19 pandemic. The good news for the sector is that the rise in visitors that many businesses are seeing are not just domestic travellers. Statistics Canada data for February shows that the number of foreign visitors to Canada in February who arrived via B.C. ports was up 147.5 per cent, compared with the same month in 2022 – to 364,096 from 147,090. Americans were largely responsible for the uptick, as 287,221 Americans visited Canada through B.C. in February, up 145.9 per cent from 116,809 in the same month one year ago. The jump in international visitors from outside the U.S. to Canada through B.C. was even higher: 153.9 per cent, to 76,875 from 30,281 in February 2021. The rise in non-U.S. international visitors is particularly important because Destination BC data shows that non-U.S. international visitors spend more per per

Urban spelunking: The 1929 Ambassador Hotel - OnMilwaukee.com

Image
If you haven't visited in a while, please know that the Ambassador Hotel, 2308 W. Wisconsin Ave., isn't your parents' Ambassador anymore. In fact, it hasn't been for a long time. X X Opened in 1929, this West Side Art Deco gem definitely experienced a rough patch, but ever since developer Rick Wiegand bought it nearly 30 years ago, it's been one of the best-kept architectural secrets in town. If you haven't walked into the hotel's restored lobby, you're really missing out. As the eight-story, 132-room Ambassador celebrates its recent flying of the Wyndham Trademark Collection flag – and kicks off its 95th year – Mayor Cavalier Johnson will declare May 4 to be Ambassador Hotel Day in the City of Milwaukee. A ghost sign can be seen on the west wall. X A better view of the sign is in this undated photo. (PHOTO: Ambassador Hotel) X The hotel's restaurant, The Fitz, will reopen that day, too. It, like the Deco Cafe

Canadian Travel News Was There: Seadust Cancun - Canadian Travel News

Canadian Travel News Was There: Seadust Cancun April 27, 2023 ctn_admin Working in travel, I'm often asked for my recommendations for vacations, everything from family to romance to getaways with friends, so I'm starting a regular column on where I've stayed and how it rates. First, I think it's important to understand how I look at properties and why I would recommend one.  My overall basis for any judgement is simple: you've saved for your trip, booked your time off work and you want to have the best experience possible within your budget.  For some that's lying on a beach all day sipping drinks, for others, it's using a hotel for a place to crash while you're out exploring.  It also should be easy – if you can only grab something to eat or drink during certain hours, that will factor into a recommendation. Safety is always a priority, espec

How a host travel agency can avoid franchisor regulations - Travel Weekly

Image
Mark Pestronk Q: I was explaining my host agency setup to another attorney, and she told me that my agency's relationship with my independent contractors is a franchise. As such, it has to comply with the federal and state franchise laws. I have seen franchise prospectuses from some of the largest host agencies; those prospectuses are very long and reveal a lot of confidential information, such as financial statements, that I would prefer to avoid disclosing. Is the other attorney correct? If so, is there any way to avoid having to comply with the franchise laws? A: The other attorney may well be correct depending on the details of your relationships with your ICs. However, there are exemptions from the federal and state prospectus requirements. Under the Federal Travel Commission's (FTC) regulation, a franchise means a contract under which, in return for fees or other mandatory costs of $615 or more during the first six months, you get the right to operate a business that is

Inside Sirenland, the Tony Writers' Retreat at Positano's Le Sirenuse ... - Air Mail

Image
I n the summer of 1953, John Steinbeck, following the exhortations of his friend Alberto Moravia, hired a driver named Bassani Bassano and braved the heat (and the Italian traffic) to travel to Positano from Rome, where he was living at the time. It left an impression. "Positano bites deep," he wrote in a column that appeared in Harper's Bazaar later that year. "We went to the Sirenuse, an old family house converted into a first class hotel, spotless and cool, with grape arbors over its outside dining rooms." Exactly 70 years later, the hotel is still first-class, still spotless and cool, and still run by the same Sersale family. One has the distinct impression that not much changes at Le Sirenuse.
