Adirondacks island resort rated among 10 best in the United States - syracuse.com

Image
Bolton Landing, N.Y. — An iconic resort on an Adirondacks island has been deemed one of the best resorts in the nation. The Sagamore Resort was voted the third-best destination resort in the United States in a contest by USA Today's 10Best. The luxurious Sagamore — a historic hotel in Bolton Landing that dates back to the late 1800s — is housed on a private island on Lake George and includes a golf course, a spa, an indoor rec center and plenty of waterside fun. The resort made the list alongside the Acqualina Resort & Residences on the Beach in sunny Florida and The Broadmoor in mountainous Colorado. 10Best editors worked with a panel of experts to come up with an initial list of 20 lauded resorts. The 10 final winners were then picked by voters. The Sagamore Resort, a Queen Anne-style hotel housed on the private, 70-acre Green Island, opened in 1883. President Richard Nixon is among its roster of historic guests, according to Historic Hotels of America. The resort's l

All-inclusive resorts aren't just for the Caribbean — Hyatt's heading to Bulgaria - The Points Guy

Image
For the most part, all-inclusive resorts have always fit into the same mold in the same general destinations. We're talking watered-down drinks and subpar food at resorts dotting the beaches up and down the Caribbean and Mexico. Lately, though, the tide has been changing for the all-inclusive experience. Major hotel companies — including Marriott, Hilton and Hyatt — have been investing serious cash to break the all-inclusive stereotypes as they collect resorts around the world. It's been almost like a game of Monopoly — but one with unlimited tequila and random breaks to limbo with your mother-in-law. In this game, Hyatt just made one of the most interesting moves yet: It added five resorts in Bulgaria, along the Black Sea, to The Inclusive Collection. Contiki: What to Expect on Contiki Tours? - New Idea

Image
What Can You Expect With Contiki? As of March 2019, their most popular tour available is their 'European Discovery' tour, a twelve-day trip with stops in seven countries (and passing by two more). It covers the highlights of seven cities along the route and gives each traveller the option to participate in additional activities or go off on their own. The experience can differ a lot depending on the type of trip that you book. For example; the forty-five-day 'Ultimate European' tour bounces around Europe and with a particular focus on the islands of Greece. Which is a wildly different experience to their Highlight trips in Vietnam or Thailand, which are only around nine or ten days. And both of those are incredibly different to a four-day New Years trip to Amsterdam.

EU tourism getting closer to 2019 levels - Products Eurostat News - Eurostat - European Commission

Image
The EU tourism industry seems to be rebounding from the COVID-19 pandemic strongly, with data for 2022 closely mirroring that for 2019.  Compared with the first half year of 2019, before the pandemic hit the EU, the total number of nights spent in tourist accommodation in the first half year of 2022 was still inferior (1.01 billion in 2022 vs 1.18 billion in 2019) but to a lesser extent than in 2020 (474.7 million) and 2021 (406.8 million). This means a 14% decrease in 2022 compared with 2019, against 66% in 2021 and 60% in 2020.  Compared with the first half year of 2021, in the same period of 2022, nights spent in tourist accommodation were up by 149%, with substantial increases in all six months. April was the month with the highest increase, up 302% compared with April 2021 (44 million nights in 2021 vs 177.6 million in 2022).  Source dataset: tour_occ_nim Data for the first half year of 2022 also show that international touris

Where to travel in June: five of the best destinations - National Geographic UK

Image
June is the month of plenty. Waterfalls are in full flow, wildlife is abundant and the days are at their longest. Sandwiched between the May bank holidays and the packed peak of July and August, this month brings sunny settings without the cost or crowds. While some parts of the world are braced against hurricanes, monsoons and heat waves, the Northern Hemisphere is in its prime. Europe's pleasant days mean kicking back in piazzas and beer gardens and on sultry beaches. The southern Med is ripe for striking out on a Croatian sailing tour or crisscrossing the Cyclades. North of the Arctic Circle, the solstice ushers in brighter nights and scores of midsummer parties across Scandinavia. The dry season starts in safari spots across the globe like Uganda, Tanzania, Borneo and the Peruvian Amazon, making June an ideal time to view the Serengeti's Great Migration or orangutans swinging through Sabah rainforests. Meanwhile, as Arctic ice melts, cruises begin plying these remote wa

In Search of Corporate Travel's Elusive Recovery - Skift Travel News

The one narrative for the post-pandemic travel rebound that largely remains in dispute now some two and a half years later, fueling prognostications from all sides, is the recovery of business travel. Just as a flurry of new late summer forecasts for a full business recovery hit — again with no real consensus — a story was gaining a lot of attention that Google, once the giant of sending people out on the road in a Google-outsized kind of a way, was cutting back its travel budgets for what it called only "business critical" trips. It was just another piece of evidence for business travel doubters that the industry will never be restored to its glory days. That's because after a challenging couple of years (and counting in some countries) the business travel industry has been looking back, misty-eyed, to the better times of 2019, asking: When will it be like that again? More specifically it's been looking back at the $1.4 trillion that was spent
