The new Arlo Midtown is a Manhattan hotel with tropical vibes - The Spaces

This Midtown hotel is every inch the bustling urban getaway, but thanks to designers Marvel and Meyer Davis it feels like an oasis in the heart of Manhattan.

Arlo Midtown is the third addition to Arlo's New York portfolio, located between Times Square and the Hudson Yards neighbourhood.

Its 489 rooms are designed to evoke calm, with a blue and grey colour palette, padded leather headboards and, if you're lucky, direct access onto a private, sunny outdoor terrace.

Guests are greeted with more of a tropical atmosphere in the lobby, however, where a hanging moss installation drapes its way down the staircase.

Arlo Midtown's Nearly Ninth restaurant is in a similar vein, set beneath a soaring glazed ceiling that makes it feel more like a greenhouse, and filled with tall palms. Rooms at the hotel start at $189 per night.
