mainak tourist lodge :: Article Creator Eco-lodge To Boost Tourism In Turkana Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok has commissioned construction of a 40-bed eco-lodge at Lokitoe Angaber in a bid to increase the prospects of the region as a tourism destination. This site is where international and domestic tourists gathered last year to watch the historic eclipse of the moon. Speaking during the groundbreaking ceremony in Turkana North Sub-county, Nanok said the lodge is meant to boost the tourism sector in the county as well as create employment for residents. He said the lodge would ensure tourists to the region do not have to go back to Lodwar Town, the county's headquarters, in search of hospitality facilities. "The eco-lodge will see to it that our youth get employment and will also increase the bed space for tourists visiting Turkana North," said Nanok. He added that the county was also building another eco-lodge in Kainuk

group travel companies :: Article Creator Upgrade Acquires Travel-focused BNPL Startup Uplift For A Song Upgrade, a provider of personal credit lines and other consumer financial products, today announced that it's agreed to acquire Uplift, the buy now, pay later (BNPL) vendor, for $100 million in cash and stock. It's likely not the exit Uplift was hoping for — and a sign of serious consolidation in the BNPL space, which just a few years ago was booming, buoyed by pandemic-era spending habits. Uplift had raised nearly $700 million in equity and debt, securing $123 million at a reported $195 million valuation in its Series C round alone. In a conversation with TechCrunch, Renaud Laplanche, Upgrade's CEO and a co-founder, said that Uplift initially reached out in May to inquire whether Upgrade would be interested in participating in Uplift's Series D financing as a strategic investor. Upgrade, however, thought a purchase made more

goway travel agent :: Article Creator The Re-Reinvention Of The Travel Agent Lynda Phillippi has ridden the ups and downs of travel many times during her 18-year career as a travel agent, and seen her profession go through just as many wrenching changes. Then along came Covid. In a job that has been redefined countless times, through the rise of online travel booking sites, to mobile phones, to the collapse of storefront retail, Phillippi, an agent at Oregon-based agency Renaissance Travel, said the past two years have been like no others in how much her world has changed. "What's shifted the most (in) post-pandemic travel — if we are even there yet — is how much more time it takes to plan, book, and get a trip successfully completed," said the 62-year-old Phillippi, who added she works the usual more than 40 hours a week, just in different ways. "We have to stay on top of destination requirements for vaccines and testing, and

clinton museum bc :: Article Creator Rob Shaw: Under David Eby, Royal Museum Of BC Won't Be Much Different, Just Not The Same The power struggle between the minister and the CEO is over, but the long-term vision is unclear The Royal BC Museum in Victoria will get a few changes here and there, but this government hasn't spelled out its grand plans. B.C.'s provincial museum could be back to a kind of functional normal by the end of this year, as the New Democrat government carefully sweeps up the mess it left from a bungled three-year overhaul. Tourism Minister Lana Popham said she not only expects the popular Old Town exhibit to reopen in late July, but the replica of Captain George Vancouver's ship should be back for the public to tour by Christmas. It's a remarkable reversal by a new tourism minister, under a new premier, who has pivoted 180 degrees away from John Horgan's plan to rip out the museum's most popular ex
