From Canada Day to The Fair at PNE and lots more, here are 164 events you need to check out around the city. For more things happening around town, check out our events section. Enjoy the great outdoorsWorld's largest goat yoga class at Maan FarmsWhat: Abbotsford's own Maan Farms will be attempting to host the world's largest goat yoga class. They've already made the application to Guinness World Records and now, they need a little help. Admission costs $25 per person, which includes an hour-long class, one pint-sized basket to fill with strawberries, and a day-pass to Maan Farms' Barnyard Adventure Land. After the class, visitors will get the chance to go strawberry picking on the fields and take a basket home. Food and drinks will also be available for purchase at Mama Maan's Kitchen and the farm's estate winery. Anyone attending is asked to bring their own mat and, if possible, to wear red or white. When: Wednesday, July 3, 2019 World Naked Bike Ride Vancouver 2019What: Each year, the 'positive' protest rolls through downtown streets to make a statement against car culture, oil spills, and pipelines. Participants can ride as free or as covered as they please. As far as a method of transportation, anything goes, from bikes to skateboards, to rollerblades. Participants are encouraged to gather at Sunset Beach at 12 pm for socializing, body painting, and bike decorating. The event will begin at 2 pm, following an eight to 10 km route along several major streets in the downtown core. Event organizers wish to remind participants that helmets are heavily recommended. The World Naked Bike Ride is a body positive event and a "Leave No Trace" event. All activities are rain or shine. When: July 6 and 7, 2019 Car-Free Day: Commercial DriveWhat: Vancouver's ever-popular Car Free Day is returning for another summer in several of the city's most popular neighbourhoods. Enjoy community booths, food trucks, live entertainment and more. As per usual, attendance is free and visitors are encouraged to walk, cycle, or transit to get to the festivities. When: Sunday, July 7, 2019 Eastside FleaWhat: Eastside Flea is a modern-day outdoor flea market that takes place monthly in Vancouver in the summer, as well as indoor events year-round Each event hosts over 50 local vendors selling diverse goods from handmade independent maker wares to vintage clothing, collectibles, plants, artisan eats and more. You'll also find food trucks, outdoor bar, live entertainment, and more. When: July 12 and 13, August 9 and 10, 2019 Slide The City North VancouverWhat: The 1,000-foot-long slip-and-slide will be returning to Lower Lonsdale for its fifth year. Using inner tubes, sliders go down the hill along a four-block-long stretch of Lonsdale Avenue from Victoria Park to 4th Street, where there is a large finish line splash pool. Thousands of others will also be along the sidelines and at the finish line to watch sliders go down the roadway at speeds of up to 15 km/h. Other attractions for the weekend include food trucks and music around Lower Lonsdale. Parking for the event will be limited, so biking, walking, or transit is encouraged. For those sliding, North Shore Neighbourhood House will offer a bag check, change rooms, and free shuttle to and from Victoria Park. When: Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14, 2019 The Deighton CupWhat: Vancouver's most stylish day of horse racing, The Deighton Cup is returning to the city for its 11 year — and it's better than ever. The fan favourite event — happening July 20 at Hastings Racecourse — is so much more than racing. This day at the races for a younger generation is a mashup of cocktails, music art and style. There are eight horse races to enjoy and bet on, derby lunch offerings from Earls Restaurants, a chance to be named the Style Stakes "Best Dressed," access to interactive leisure sports and cigar lounge, and live musical and DJ entertainment. The greatly anticipated event will feature a two-barge firework show in the Inlet, viewable from Vancouver's waterfront and the North Shore, or with tickets available at the family-friendly Fireworks Viewing Zone.
