The proposal is only for long-distance passenger trains, and is similar to in-flight shopping services. The three trains that have been selected for this service are Chennai Express, Konark Express, and the Ernakulam-Hazrat Nizamuddin Duronto Express. However, the facility will only be available in the AC coaches of these trains. Two items listed for sale in the Central Railway zone of the Indian Railways are small gadgets and cosmetic products among others. The tender will probably be floated in the next few days; currently, the plan is to allow passengers to purchase the products either by cash or online transfer. Initially, the on-board shopping service shall be launched on trial in the three trains as mentioned above, and the decision for to make it permanent shall be taken depending on the response of the passengers. Collapsible trolleys will be pushed through the trains for passengers' ease. In recent times, Indian Railways has been seeing a lot of changes, with over 90 railway stations being transformed into world-class transport hubs. Additional amenities are being put in place, such as Wi-Fi, LED lights, etc. Also, recently, Anubhuti luxury coaches were launched to replace AC 1st class Executive Chair car coaches in few of the Shatabdi Express trains.
