Very good collection to select options to visit a tour.maintain in future.

Independence Day is here and for most professionals stuck in their round-the-clock job, this is an opportunity like no other to plan a quick getaway.

Staying in Delhi has its own advantages and disadvantages. But when it comes to travelling in a limited time and on a shoe-string budget, there are quite a few places to consider.

From history to nature to wildlife and adventure, there is an endless list of places in and around for a mini-vacation.

Here are 5 destinations you could be headed to during the Independence Day weekend.

Distance from Delhi: 166 km

Ideal for: Travellers, family, friends & couples

Budget: Rs 1500-2000

Often overshadowed by the touristy locations of Jaipur, Jodhpur & Jaisalmer, the city of Alwar is a perfect weekend destination for those who seek something different.

Alwar is perhaps the oldest of the Rajasthani kingdoms, forming part of the Matsya territories of Viratnagar in 1500 BC.

Silserh Lake and Hill Fort Kesroli along with Sariska Tiger Reserve and the apparently haunted Bhangarh fort are the main attractions in and around Alwar.

So, hop into your car and head to this fairly unexplored destination for a slice of heritage, history, architecture and some yummy Rajasthani food!

Distance from Delhi: 242 km

Ideal for: Travellers, family, couples, devotees

Budget: Rs 2000-3000

Nestled cautiously in the Himalayas with the river Ganges flowing next to it, Rishikesh is way more than just an important pilgrimage destination.

For the adventure-lovers, Rishikesh has the highest bungee-jumping spot in India, with a height of 83m.

For the gastronome, although most-places here offer vegetarian food, but it's nothing like you have ever had.

So stop procrastinating and plan a quick trip to this exotic location that offers just the right amount of tranquillity and adventure.

Distance from Delhi: 260 km

Ideal for: Family, friends, couples, nature-lovers and travellers

Budget: Rs 2000-5000

For those of us who prefer our vacations far from the madding crowd, Lansdowne is clearly a favourite.

Perched at an altitude of 1,700 meters above sea level, Lansdowne is a pretty and peaceful little hill station with relatively smaller crowds, especially when compared to the more popular hill stations in the same Garhwal region, like Uttarakhand, Mussoorie and Nainital.

The picturesque Himalayan peaks Chaukhamba & Trishul are visible from here.

So, if you are in the mood for a lazy weekend and want to spend time
observing and appreciating nature, think no further.

Distance from Delhi: 235 km

Ideal for: Couples, Wildlife Lovers

Budget: Rs 3000-15,000

Are you fascinated by adventure and does the forest bring out the wanderlust in you?

To quench your thirst of spotting the rare and following animal trails, what could be better than visiting the country's oldest tiger reserve? Think no more and head to the Jim Corbett National Park.

Located in the Himalayan Terai Region, the experience is delightful in itself even if you don't manage to spot a big cat. However, if you do get fortunate, no sight can quite match up to seeing a Bengal Tiger prowling in the wilderness. The free-roaming elephants are a spectacular sight too.

The cottages and hotels in and around the reserve are particularly comfortable and you are never too far from the adventure.
