After a spring and summer of sky-high airfares, prices are finally starting to drop.
Traveler Christopher Stach was pleasantly surprised.
"I've found the airfares to be a lot lower right now," he told us as he headed to catch his flight.
Tony Arn also found a great deal.
"They were a lot better this year," Arn said, "About 25% less, which was a lot more reasonable."
The travel site Hopper reports fall flights are actually down 29% compared to the summer peak.
Experts say it is the result of airlines reporting a slowdown in fall bookings this year, as two years of "revenge travel" begins to subside.
Domestic trips in September and October in the US averaged just $211 per ticket.
But how long will these low prices hold?
Katy Nastro with the travel platform Going says "experiences and attractions and hotel prices, you know, all aspects of the industry have come down slightly. So it is a more affordable time of the year to travel."
She says some of the best deals to snag this fall are flights to Europe.
"We found Chicago to Rome for only $495 round trip. Even better, New York to Dublin for $369 round trip on full service airlines," she said.
If you're holiday planning, Nastro says prices will be more affordable than last year, but you should buy those peak season flights three to seven months out.
So, the window for finding cheap winter flights is closing.
"Waiting till the last minute is not a good tactic, you'll probably encounter not only expensive flights but ridiculously expensive flights," she said.
Traveler Paul Sorke realizes he'll have to pay more over the holidays.
But if you are booking a flight for the fall, he says, "they are super cheap and you can afford to fly to a lot of places."

An anonymous woman, 29, took to Reddit to share that she and her 32-year-old spouse had been planning a trip to New Orleans, and her husband had promised to buy the plane tickets if she booked the other activities at the destination.
However, one week before the trip, the unnamed man had yet to purchase the plane tickets, and now pleaded with his wife to cancel the trip altogether and have a staycation.
But, the woman has revealed she denied his request and went on the trip anyways and has now questioned if she is in the wrong in a thread titled, 'Am I the A**hole,' for jetting off alone.

She explained that the two had been discussing traveling to New Orleans for 'months', however she had been planning the majority of the trip.
The post read: 'My husband (32m) and I (29f) planned a week vacation to New Orleans. We (but mostly I) have been planning this for months.
'Back in March, I told him I would plan most of it, where to go, and what to do, all he has to do was make sure he had the week off and buy the plane tickets.'
She explained that for the last few months she had booked the hotel room, made reservations at various restaurants, and had even come up with a list of places to go as well as things to do.
And while she was planning away, her husband had yet to purchase the tickets.
She added: 'Every few weeks, I would check in with my husband to see if he had asked off and bought the tickets yet, he would say he was waiting for the plane ticket prices to go down.
'Three weeks ago, I reminded him again and he said he had got off of work for the days but had forgotten to get the tickets. He looked online and the tickets were close to $1,500 per ticket. He said he was going to wait some more to see if they would go down.'
However, the week before the trip, she once again questioned if he had made their travel plans.

This time, her husband said the tickets were far too expensive and asked his wife to cancel all of the bookings altogether, adding that the two could have a staycation instead.
'Last week, I asked if he had bought them yet and he said no. We looked again and the prices were still high.
'He said he wasn't willing to spend that much on them and asked how much money I would lose if I just canceled everything instead.
'He offered to have a nice staycation instead. I told him I was not willing to cancel everything because I spent so much time planning it. We argued and we didn't come to a conclusion,' she said.
The 29-year-old noted that after their disagreement, she decided to buy her own ticket and flew out that weekend.
'When I flew out Saturday, I told him I was still going and he acted all surprised that I didn't want to stay home with him.
'I am in New Orleans now and he is blowing up my phone saying that I am an AH for still going without him. He was trying to get a ticket to come too but I told him if he came, he is getting his own hotel room because this is now my vacation away from him,' she said.
